The Society Islands come to mind at the mention of the South Seas with their picturesque high jagged silhouettes, worn remnants of once tall volcanoes, surrounded by coral reefs. The islands extend over 400 miles and consist of 12 major islands. The ones we planned to visit include Tahiti, Moorea, Huahini, Raiatea, Tahaa, Bora Bora and Maupiti.
